It’s a weird thought that after 8 years of work, my first book for Middle Grade is set for publication in less than 2 weeks. Last week I received a box full of copies. What an amazing moment. Not least because I opened it expecting to find the coffee I ordered a few days earlier. I wondered why my coffee was so heavy!
Preparations got a little crazy when I found out I needed to deliver edits for Book #2, Frederik Sandwich and the Mayor Who Lost Her Marbles by the end of January. That involved some adjustments to the plot, and 3 weeks of very intense focus. But I love the outcome and I’m excited to be sending that to my publisher, Sourcebooks Jabberwocky, in the next few days.
Some events are looming. There’s a book launch party at Brick and Mortar Books in Redmond, WA on Saturday February 10th. Come along if you’re able.
I’ve been invited to A Book for All Seasons, a wonderful store in Leavenworth, WA on March 3rd. I’ll be running some workshops at Icicle River Middle School the day before.
And in April I’m heading to Tacoma to visit Geiger Montessori, Washington Elementary, and Wheelock Branch of Tacoma Library.
Till then I’m just counting down the days till Frederik and Pernille are at last unleashed on the world. Knowing those two, there will be a certain amount of chaos…
